in 1989 through a grant from the Duchossois Foundation. The Barrington Dance Academy provides a home for this superlative regional company which receives support from corporations, foundations government agencies and individual donors.
The company repertoire, which includes productions of Sleeping Beauty, Peter and the Wolf and a new Coppelia, also produces an annual production of the Nutcracker, which has been acclaimed as the finest in the area. Featuring professional dancers, designers, production staff and of course, the BYDE dancers, the company provides roles for over 80 of our young dance students. Auditions are held in September and are open to all local dance students.
