The event features local talent representing dance, music, and theater, as well as a juried art exhibit. With time and energy on our hands, we have committed to produce a new work -- Coppelia -- the funny and romantic story of a mystical dollmaker and his creation. Like the BYDE Nutcracker, this classical ballet will provide exciting live performance opportunities for hundreds of young dancers, adult performers, volunteers, and professional guest artists. Open auditions for Coppelia will be held this November, with performances now scheduled in Spring 2001. Watch for details in the months ahead. Now, the real work begins. There are sets to build, costumes to create, dancers to train. And always, there are funds to raise. We will hold two events that we invite you to attend: a Day at the Races at Arlington International Racetrack on July 9, and a formal gala in early 2001. Become involved in the arts and help us continue to bring quality dance events to the Northwest suburbs. Your participation at any level is greatly appreciated!
