BYDE Workshops

Each year, BYDE employs professional guest artists to conduct master dance seminars for advanced instruction in ballet, modern dance, jazz, and pas de deux. These classes are open to the public.

The 2012 Master Class Weekend Features:

Graham Modern Technique & Pas De Deux with Winifred Haun & Guillermo Leyva

August 17th - August 19th

Winifred Haun has been choreographer and artistic director of her own modern company, Winifred Haun & Dancers since 1991. Ms. Haun has been nominated three times for the prestigious Ruth Page Award for Choreography and Performance and in 1999, she won the Ruth Page Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Dance Community.

Guillermo Leyva trained at the Professional School of Arts in Camaguey, Cuba, and danced professionally at Ballet de Camaguey, Ballet de Monterrey, and Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, among others. He is a beloved instructor at Barrington Dance Academy and other Chicago area ballet studios, and is an internationally recognized expert in the art of pas de deux.

Participant Portion of Cost

Pas de Deux - $40.00 for BYDE members, $60.00 for non-BYDE
Graham - $30.00 for BYDE members, $60.00 for non-BYDE

Registration and payment due no later than Wednesday, August 8th. Checks made to BYDE. All students must have hair secured in a bun, pointe shoes required for Inter I-Advanced, and convertible tights.
